Phyllopsora buettneri

Phyllopsora buettneri spore.

Spores of the genus Phyllopsora, at least in our area, are narrowly elliptical or sometimes more pointed at the tips than our example. In that case the term fusiform is used to describe the spore shape. Species of this genus are generally found in tropical or subtropical environments, although a few also occur along ocean margins in more temperate climates.
