Another brightly colored species is called the "yellow pox lichen". Its perethecia are tiny, shown by the few black specks on the surface of the lichen. It is almost always found in full sun on smooth barked trees, most commonly on willow bustic (Sideroxylon salicifolia) or dahoon (Ilex cassine).
