Trypethelium variolosum

Among the Trypetheliums, T. variolosum may be confused with T. floridanum which can also have perethecia joined in white raised warts. But T. variolosum has smaller spores. Some lichenologists split this taxa into two species, T. ochroleucum and T. nitidiusculum. The thallus of the former turns yellow under ultraviolet light while the latter does not. |
