Arthopyrenula cinchonae

Long cylindrical asci are a characteristic of this species. Commonly spores are aborted during development with many asci producing less than the normal 8 spores. Within an ascus, spores may be aligned in a single head to tail row (uniseriate as depicted in picture to left) or in two  side by side rows (biseriate).
